Christmas Giving Tree

Throughout the Advent Season, two parish Giving Trees are placed near the altar - a Traditional Tree and International Tree.

(The Traditional Tree is decorated with gift tags for children, teens and adults.  Parishioners are invited to purchase a gift card for the recipient and then place the gift card in a box next to the tree on the first two weekends of Advent.  The gift cards will be delivered in time for Christmas to Montgomery County shelters, St. Thomas More Parish in SE DC as well as charitable organizations that provide gifts to needy members of our community. In 2015, Holy Redeemer parishioners donated more than 168 gift cards that were distributed to Crossways Community, St. Camillus Parish Outreach, Interfaith Works (to support the Wilkins Avenue and Carroll House shelters).

The International Tree focuses on projects beyond U.S. borders that address basic human needs and are also closely tied to and supported by Holy Redeemer parishionrs.  In 2015 the International Tree benefitted the Togo Mission Project and Farm of the Child in Honduras. Please visit www.togomissionparish.org to learn more about the extraordinary and vital work Father Ryan is leading.  More information about the extensive work Farm of the Child can be found at http://www.farmofthechild.org/ )
