SAY YES TO JESUS: DONATE NEEDED SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT TO THE TOGO MISSION

Image of Our Lady of Gaudalupe Mission Parish

During September, parishioners are invited to donate items to fill a 40-foot container that will be shipped to the mission parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Togo, Holy Redeemer’s sister parish.

Here is some important information about the process, along with a detailed list of items that are critically needed to support the work of the mission (Green Double-Sided Sheet).

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Q. When and where can we bring items for donation?
A. Throughout September, collection times are 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. every Saturday, and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays, on the lower level of the church. Both the side door and the door by the ramp are labeled; follow the arrows to the main collection room. SMALL donations may also be dropped off in the church vestibule at any time.

Q. When will the container be filled and sent? Can parishioners help with that?
A. The “Container Fill-Day” will be Saturday, October 3. The container will arrive by truck to Holy Redeemer’s back parking lot Thursday evening, Oct. 1. Volunteers will be needed Saturday (and possibly Friday) to help sort items, bring them outside, and fill the container. Volunteers will also be needed throughout September to assist with boxing and labeling donated items.

Q. What items should parishioners consider donating?
A. Please see the list: ITEMS NEEDED BY TOGO MISSION  (PDF)

Q. Why aren’t clothes included on the list?
A. Clothes are not being accepted as experience has shown multiple problems with space, storage, and distribution.

Q. Anything else I should know?
A. Yes! Items can be purchased through Amazon and sent directly to the parish rectory office. Starting Tuesday after Labor Day, Flocknote messages will be sent along with Amazon links to important items needed. We’ll also post new items that are needed and let you know what items are no longer needed.
